We’re partnering with an amazing independent agency to appoint an experienced senior strategist for a 12-month maternity cover assignment, with genuine potential for the role to become permanent.

They work with ambitious brands and leadership teams, helping clients define sharper positioning, stronger propositions, and more commercially effective brand strategies.

Description

  • Leading strategic thinking across a portfolio of FMCG and consumer-focused accounts
  • Developing brand, proposition and campaign strategies grounded in commercial and consumer insight
  • Partnering closely with senior clients to identify underlying business challenges and opportunities
  • Interrogating briefs, facilitating workshops and shaping strategic direction from first principles
  • Supporting strategic development for a growing technology / SaaS account
  • Working collaboratively with creative and client services teams to ensure strategic thinking translates effectively into execution
  • Moving confidently between consumer, B2B and B2B2C strategic contexts
  • Using AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance strategic workflows, research and idea development
  • Operating autonomously within a lean, high-performing team environment
  • Contributing to the wider strategic thinking and intellectual culture of the agency

This role would suit someone who enjoys operating upstream of execution and is comfortable leading senior-level conversations independently.

Experience

  • Significant experience across brand, marketing or commercial strategy
  • Ideally strong FMCG experience, particularly within brand development and campaign planning
  • Exposure to technology and/or SaaS clients
  • Comfortable working across both consumer and B2B environments
  • B2B2C experience would be highly advantageous
  • Confident operating with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Able to work independently and bring clear strategic points of view
  • Experience within agencies, consultancies or strategically-led environments
  • Naturally curious, commercially minded and strategically rigorous
  • Someone already embracing AI tools as part of their strategic workflow and thinking process

Remuneration

  • 12-month FTC with genuine potential to become permanent
  • Hybrid working model
  • 4 or 5 days per week considered
  • Office based 3-4 days a week
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
